As someone who may work with or be in contact with children and young people, this may be the most important course of your career and personal life. For some people, this unit may be very difficult to undertake due to the sensitive subjects. Whilst we use the term ‘child abuse’ as a society, we should maybe call it ‘human abuse’ because the trauma which occurs to a person as a child stays with them long into adult life and can often have long-lasting negative impacts on the individual person and future generations of that family.
